When a beautiful young woman is found murdered, her body on ritualistic display in a Boston-area backyard, Detective Michael O’Hara is one of the first to the brutal scene. Immediately he recognizes that two clues -- a red rose in the victim’s hand and the letter P carved into her torso – likely indicate that the deranged killer has a grander scheme.
O’Hara’s instincts are proven correct when a second young woman is discovered dead, this time with the letter O carved into her body. As the killer revels in the sickeningly perverse jigsaw being played over the geography of greater Boston, a multi-jurisdictional task force races against time to end the deadly campaign. As additional letters are revealed in horrific and familiar style, the final death count will be determined only when, or if, the puzzle is solved.
